Digital services have continued to expand, revolutionising industry sectors, cities, manufacturing and policy. The war in Ukraine has increased cyberwar risks and the intervention of both state and non-state actors across boundaries. Prospects for all-out cyberwar, focused on key financial markets and core infrastructure looms large. For speciality insurers there are major new opportunities for new products and for novel forms of engagement with clients based on data sharing, service integration and predictive models. There are also strategic threats, as new alliances emerge between ‘big tech’ data and AI specialists and insurers.
